OpenFOV

TL;DR

It uses your basic webcam to track your head movements in iRacing so you don't have to buy expensive infrared hardware.

Who is this actually for?

Sim racers who want better immersion but can't justify spending $150 on a TrackIR or wearing a VR headset for hours.

The Good

  • Zero extra hardware cost if you already have a webcam sitting on your monitor.
  • You don't have to wear a dorky LED clip or reflective hat while driving.

The Catch (Potential Downsides)

Webcam-based tracking usually has more latency than dedicated sensors, which might make you feel a bit sick. It will also probably stop working the moment you turn the lights down to race in the dark.
